Equiplast is the trade fair that gathers all the sectors of plastic and rubber to promote solutions to address the global challenges related to their impact on the environment, and will take place from May 30th to June 2nd, in Barcelona (Spain).
BTL will be present at the fair at a stand located at Recinto Gran Via (Pavilion P3, Level 0, Stand G63), where a new technology resulting from the Tech4 T-RTM project will be on display.
The Tech4 T-RTM project is promoted by a consortium composed by BTL – Indústrias Metalúrgicas, S.A. (leading promoter), Simoldes Plásticos, S.A. and the University of Aveiro (ESAN/CICECO/TEMA). This project aims the development of a production system for structural components in thermoplastic composite material, based on an emerging thermoplastic liquid molding technology (T-RTM). This disruptive technology for thermoplastic processing has sparked the interest of the automotive industry for its potential to manufacture lightweight structural composite components and thereby meet global directives on sustainability, recyclability and energy efficiency. The project ends on June 30th, during the course of the project activities were carried out that led to the development of a semi-industrial T-RTM production system which will be presented at this fair.
The consortium's participation in this edition of EQUIPLAST is an initiative co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund, as part of COMPETE 2020.16 de maio de 2023
